When You Write the Truth, Hell Pays Attention. The Conditional Attacks of Satan on a Truth-Teller!

When someone dares to tell the truth that shakes religious comfort zones, spiritual warfare often follows. It’s not surprising that since the publication of Good People Don’t Go to Heaven: Only Saved People Do by Kent Lyle Hutchinson, there have been what I would call conditional attacks—subtle, sometimes direct, but always strategic moves by the enemy aimed at silencing the truth, discouraging the messenger, and confusing the audience.

Why Good People Don’t Go to Heaven Is So Dangerous (To Hell)

The title alone offends human pride and the religious spirit. It calls out the lie that morality alone saves and unmasks the deception that heaven is a reward for behavior rather than a gift received through Christ. The book brings clarity to something the enemy thrives on confusing: that no one is saved by being good, but only by grace through faith in Jesus.

This kind of clarity cuts through spiritual fog—and Satan doesn’t like losing ground.

Understanding Conditional Attacks

When the truth is proclaimed, Satan often waits for a condition—a moment of vulnerability, fatigue, disappointment, or even success—to strike. Conditional attacks are not random. They are customized. They come:

  • After you speak boldly – when the adrenaline fades and doubt tries to creep in.
  • When people respond positively – triggering backlash from critics or causing the messenger to second-guess.
  • In times of isolation – whispering lies that you’re alone in this or you’ve gone too far.
  • Through those close to you – planting offense, misunderstanding, or betrayal.

These attacks aren’t about what you feel—they’re about what you carry. Truth disrupts the enemy’s system, and the one who carries it often becomes a target.

I Didn’t Just Write a Book—I Drew a Line

Books like Good People Don’t Go to Heaven don’t just inform—they confront. They pull down spiritual strongholds. And that’s why I am not just a writer; I’m a watchman, a prophetic voice that refuses to sugarcoat salvation or let cultural Christianity slip through unchecked.
The cost? Spiritual attacks, misunderstanding, and resistance.
The reward? Souls awakened, deception exposed, and eternity changed.

What Should We Do When the Attacks Come?

  • Recognize the Source – Not every hardship is a Satanic attack, but if it comes directly after truth is released, pay attention. The enemy doesn’t waste bullets on the harmless.
  • Stay Rooted in the Word – If Satan attacked Jesus with twisted Scripture in the wilderness, he’ll do the same to us. Know the Word and wield it.
  • Don’t Retreat – Fear makes you question if it was worth it. Faith says: If I’m being attacked, I must be advancing the Kingdom.
  • Stay Surrounded – Conditional attacks are often aimed at isolation. Don’t fight alone. Let others hold your arms up when you’re tired.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. (John 10:10)

The Attacks Over the Last Three Years: Ever Since I Began Writing Good People Don’t Go to Heaven: Only Saved People Do!

Even before I began writing Good People Don’t Go to Heaven, I knew in my spirit that I would go through relentless attacks from the enemy! I have “no fear.”

I began writing my book in late February of 2023. By the middle of July, I went to the Emergency Room at the local hospital with my blood pressure dropping to dangerous levels. A CT scan was performed, and a 7mm kidney stone was discovered lodged in my right kidney, with my kidney growing around the stone. They tried four times to get the stone removed but failed. The next option would have been an invasive surgery, going into the kidney to remove the stone, after which I would have to wear a bag with a tube attached to it. That option, I did not want.

After prayer, we decided to seek other options elsewhere. We traveled from Terre Haute to Bloomington, Indiana, to see a urologist with more sophisticated instruments to remove the kidney stone. The surgeon got one-third of the stone out on the first try, and then the remaining two-thirds out a week later.

I finished my book by the end of August 2023, and on November 8, 2023, the book was finally published.

On February 29, 2024, I had a total knee replacement surgery on my right knee. No sooner had I recovered from that when I lost my balance and could not stand without falling down. I fell six times before making it to the ER. One week later, with an MRI, they discovered I had stenosis of the spine in two different places. The first area of stenosis was in my lower back. The other was located in my upper back, between my shoulder blades.

Each day that went by was like a ticking time bomb. The paralysis kept getting worse. I had emergency back and spinal surgery on May 29, 2024, on the upper part of my back because that was the area pinching my spinal cord. They implanted a metal plate with screws and a piece of cadaver bone in my spine. They said I may or may not ever walk again.

I was wheelchair-bound for several weeks, and then went to a walker, and then a cane. I was in rehab therapy at Clinton Gardens for two weeks. It has been a little over a year now, and I am still not 100% recovered. However, with the Lord’s help, I am no longer using any kind of assistance device. I will eventually get there with complete healing.

On February 13, 2025, I received another total knee replacement surgery on my left knee. No sooner had I recovered from that when I had an open-heart double bypass surgery on July 9, 2025. I am still recovering at this time.

On June 29, 2025, a special speaker came to our church and prophesied over everyone in the entire congregation. The evangelist walked up to me and said, “Satan has been trying to kill you for the past few years.” I said, “Yes, but he’s not going to get the job done!” The devil is a wimp!

No weapon formed against you shall prosper. (Isaiah 54:17 NKJV)

In Summary

Isaiah 54:17 is God’s assurance that:

  • The enemy’s weapons may come, but they won’t win.
  • Lies and accusations will fall flat in God’s courtroom.
  • You are protected not because you’re perfect, but because you’re His.
  • This protection and vindication are part of your covenant inheritance as a servant of the Lord.

It’s one of the most empowering promises in Scripture—especially when you’re walking through attack, opposition, or slander.

Satan attacks what he fears. Good People Don’t Go to Heaven is a threat to the kingdom of darkness because it challenges the world’s oldest lie: “You can be like God by doing good.”

My obedience to write this truth doesn’t just stir minds—it stirs spirits. And in doing so, I’ve awakened the fight. But the good news is: the One who called me to write is the One who has already won.

So if you’re feeling the heat for telling the truth—don’t back down. It’s not just a fight. It’s evidence that your words are hitting their mark.
